Peterborough Presents brought together a group of local poets and invited them to spend time at the Lido, writing about their experiences in residency. We immortalised the resulting poems on the walls to celebrate the Lido’s 80th anniversary. We chose a combination of styles of typography appropriate to the architecture of the building. The artwork is decorative so that it can be enjoyed by all visitors to the Lido, whatever their age, nationality or level of literacy. We selected colours that would harmonise with the existing decor and the wonderful iridescent cyan of the water.
