We here at Paper Rhino recently completed a fun project for a valued local company in Peterborough. Jumped Up Theatre wanted an editorial group to be able to create and curate their own digital zine. They approached us to help facilitate this and create the digital zine, alongside these young creative participants.
Digital Zine Creation Workshops
Local artists held the workshops over a block of months in a series of locations around the city. These include Chloe Wilmot, Charley Genever, Korp, Laura Samson, Lee Ashton, Emily Steele and ourselves. The workshops were based around the themes of IDENTITY, PASSIONS AND FAILURE to discover what young people are thinking Right Here Right Now.
Paper Rhino facilitated workshops to create the identity for the project. We introduced the group to the branding process and coached them to make curatorial decisions about how the end product would look. We also went through what content should be included and how to display it.
Logo Creation
Resident Rhino Amanda worked with the sounding board to discuss colours, fonts and feel of the zine. The final logo for the project can be seen below in full colour. There are also monochrome versions and an abbreviate alternative. We always check what outcomes our clients will need deliverables for so we can adapt our final designs to perfectly suit the use they are intended for.
Getting to know the group was really fascinating. They’re passionate about the project and that has made it really special to be a part of.

Digital Zine Capsule Website
These pages (below) showcase how we repurposed some of the youth’s artworks into these bespoke page headers in matching colours to the brand. We proposed a website as opposed to a page turning digital zine as this solution is more current and more accessible. Also, each theme has a page with a gallery of various works across lots of different styles and mediums. The website serves as a modern day time capsule and has an amazing mixture of writing, drawings, videos and audio, reveals what is important to today’s young people.
