Recently, Queensgate Shopping Centre in Peterborough approached us to create a mural celebrating the vibrant shopping centre and all it has to offer. They also wanted it to feature historical landmarks from the city in the design. With that brief in mind, and a good understanding of Peterborough and it’s iconic landmarks, we got to work.
In our excitement during our idea generating, we thought it would be fun to add augmented reality into the mural design, which would be engaging to the public and allow an extra element of interactivity. Using the Artivive app, viewers can scan the mural and watch our animated illustrations come to life! (see some of the animation below).
After creating the vector illustrations, we added animation using Adobe After Effects to really utalise how the Artivive App could add in the movement we had in mind. If you’re in the area, download the app for free and have a look for yourself.
Many thanks to Queensgate Shopping Centre for working with us on this fun project and letting us explore the added element of augmented reality, this was a really fun piece of work for our local city centre.
