Cambridge Mural

A fantastic opportunity arose to create murals for a brand new underpass, part of the Chisholm Trail, a walking and cycling route in Cambridge. To make something long-lasting, easy to maintain and durable, the designs were printed on aluminium boards which were secured to the concrete walls. We stylised elements of local historic buildings, one of which dates back to 1125, and sampled colours from the stone of the local Leper Chapel. The designs reference the joggers and cyclists who enjoy the new route. The poem that flows through the graphic is by the hugely inspiring poet Michael Rosen about Newton visiting Stourbridge Fair to buy prisms.
