A Creative Co-op
What would life be like without fungi? Well, pizza would be a lot less great! (Although most kids would probably disagree.)
But seriously, almost all plants rely on fungi to survive. Their vast underground networks of mycelium help plants and trees communicate, sending chemical signals to warn their neighbours about dangers such as drought and insect attacks. So, during the wild summer we’ve just had, fungi must have been very busy indeed.
Paper Rhino have teamed up with poet Mark Grist to disappear into another dimension and explore the hidden processes of fungi that we can’t always see. A huge thank you to the British Mycological Society for awarding us the Massee Arts Grant, supporting us to make this film, guiding us scientifically and feeding our fungi obsession.
