A Creative Co-op
As part of Inspire Nottingham Libraries’ Summer Reading Challenge 2024, Paper Rhino’s Amanda Rigby and poet Mark Grist served as Artist and Author in Residence. Collaborating with local schoolchildren, they created expressive artwork and original poems celebrating the wide range of human emotions. Children explored mark-making techniques to design emotional ‘monsters,’ while poems used metaphor and imagination to bring feelings to life.
The resulting artwork and poetry were exhibited at Inspire Libraries across Nottinghamshire so the children could bring their families to see the work and get involved.
During Expression family workshops, as part of the exhibition, Amanda guided participants in drawing their own emotional monsters using colour and texture, while Mark shared his picture books and led playful rhyming games.
