A Creative Co-op
As part of Sustainable Fashion Week (see programme design post), this hands-on workshop explored the art of natural dyeing. Plant-based dyes can create anything from soft, subtle tones to vibrant shades. Their unpredictability is part of the excitement!
Paper Rhino member Amanda guided participants through making a binder between fabric and dye, and demonstrated how to use plants and food waste, such as nettles and onion skins, to create beautiful pigments. She also introduced flower and leaf hammering techniques to imprint striking natural patterns onto fabric.
